  2. Add milk and heat back up to almost simmering. Stir 2 tsp cornstarch and last tbs water together in a small bowl. Slowly pour into saucepan, stirring constantly.
  3. Continue cooking until sauce thickens, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired. If sauce seems too thin stir an additional tsp cornstarch into a little more water and mix in. Serve hot and enjoy!

When peas and carrots are cooked, drain them and place in your serving bowl. Pour cream sauce over vegetables and stir to thoroughly combine. Excellent quick and perfect for two. I used new garden peas (sold in a bag at grocers) next time maybe a little less milk but oh so good! I served with a new recipe for a salmon loaf (used up a few small cans of salmon) and some fresh mashed potatoes. (Extra cream peas spilled over on potatoes).
